Look at all the pleading faces-PUPPIES OVERFLOWING-AT CHATOOGA COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL in Summerville, GA. The new shelter manager there Suzanne [email protected] is an angel-she is so dedicated to saving these animals and will bend over backwards to help you. There are Lab Puppies, some look Golden Mix and Plott Hound Puppies and Australian Shep Mix Puppies and please don't forget to look at the adult dogs, too.

This is WHY I will always go to a shelter or rescue and save a dog and never buy a dog again.

I went to our local shelter Monday....
There were 5 dogs available for adoption...<and only one pitX>!
There were so many empty kennels....

There were also empty cat cages....<that never happens here....>

I was shocked....the place is usually loaded....

I live in Maine too and I have been keeping an eye on our local shelters and noticed that most dogs get adopted out really quick right now. Not so for those shelter south of us.

I know many states in the east, CT, NY, Maine, take dogs from the South, GA & SC are too of the big ones, because they can adopt them out quickly in the East.
