Well I just have to brag about my Frosti( I am just so proud of my boy ) he took part of his first show today in the HRFÍ ( Icelandic Breeder Club, only Icelandic club which is a member of FCI ) show today. He was competing in puppies 4-6 months and got second place ( I wan't to believe it is manly because of the colouring of his coat under the left eye because of an eye infection which he is fighting now ). But still our first show, my sister ( 16 ) showed him, it was her first try she had some little beginner issues but still great.

This is the review which we got judge was Svend Lovenkjær from Denmark.

Very good body proportions. Good expressions, needs to be filled out in foreface. Very good forechest + neck + topline. Good straight strong forelegs. Very well angulated strong rear. Enough ribcage, super temprament + coat structure
Ignore the medals there, the picture was taken to piss my older sister a little bit off ( she lives in Barcelona and so wants be here for Frosti ), and we added the medals just for fun, but the ribbons are his ( They are participation ribbon, Honour Ribbon and Second place Ribbon ).

The dog in front of Frosti in the ladder picture is Hrói ( Robin Hood is called in Icelandic Hrói höttur ) and is his brother and showing him is the breeder of the two ( although she does not own Hrói ).

Puff, well like I said I didn't show him but my sister did but we watched her show him ( her first show, nerves telling ) and I wont deny it could have gone better but still Frosti was great, but a little beginning mistakes and of course the puppies were all a little bit excited to see all each other.

But I was so nervous when I watching her show Frosti. Every little mistake and I was pounding. But I like these shows so much because afterwards you can go to the booths which each department ( like the Retriever department ( showing all retrievers ) ) show the dogs and the speciality.

And yes I have to agree with you rappwizard I like to hear about shows from everybody ( I must admit I just like hearing about Goldens so this page is in my daily ritual :) )

Ah well, you may not have held the lead but you were there :D I just wondered as I have 6-month old I am trying to show and it is quite--er, challenging and humorous at times so I thought a ring full of 4-6 month olds would be fun ;)

My Frosti is almost 5 months old ( on 10th of October, born 10th of May 2009 ) and he is in my opinion quite a big boy ( was last monday 21,3 kg ( around 47 pounds ) the vet said he was in great shape but said he would probably go over 40 kg ( 88 pounds ) and I was like wow:doh: ).

Well yes it was as one breeder put it so well quite a circus, the puppies were all so happy to see new and old playmates that before the ring there was quite a fun scene.

But GoldenSail I wouldn't definitely show your 6-month old. Although there were a lot of mistakes made in the ring:p:, this was so much fun, and the dog ( and us ) can take this experience to use for the next time

P.S. Just because someone here didn't imagine a dog show here in Iceland :p, this one is normally one of the smallest ( largest one is normally in February there are 3 - 4 shows every year ) . There were 750 pure breed dogs of nearly 80 breeds.
