Last night hubby got the kids' "soft" frisbee out and threw it towards Geddy. Low and behold she's pretty darn good! Caught it first time... and didn't miss many after that. 'course Soy-boy wasn't helping any ;)

I look forward to next year when we can take some time to develop her obvious nack for this sport.

Anyone else's dog like catching a frisbee?

Any problems with letting a dog jump for a frisbee? Geds is now 3, and Sawyer is very soon to be 2.

Penny LOVES her soft frisbee. She's a great catcher and even tries to now catch the "tennis" sticks instead of retrieving them. I do try to throw so she doesn't have to jump much. Maggie and Cody could care less about the frisbee and trying to catch though.

Our 1.5 year old rescue Roxy is a natural frisbee girl. The soft rubber discs are easier on her mouth and don't bounce off.

Molson LOVES frisbee too! Funny though because he hates playing fetch with a tennis ball. He must not realize that it's the same game!

His timing is still off a bit but it's slowly getting better and better! We'll have to bring out a frisbee at one of the next meets to get these fur kids playing together!

AWWW what a cute story!! It sounds like Geddy is a "natural" for the frisbee!! My Brody is obsessed with tennis balls! He will also go after a frisbee, but by far....tennis balls are his favorite!
Would love to see some pictures of that flying catch! :)

I hope Winchester figures out how to grab things in the air. So far he doesn't even try to catch treats. Just looks at me like "why did you throw it on the ground?" My other dog (an ACD) loved catching frisbees. She was quite an athlete!

Rookie's favorite toy is the Flying Squirrel, which is frisbee-like. But he doesn't really even try to catch it mid-air, it's more of a fetch game for him. I throw it, he brings it back to me. But boy does he love to chase that thing!

Lucy loves it. Dory's too little right now and just plays tackle frisbee with Lucy. Lucy has spent the past several months becoming a master bubble chaser, and I think that's helped her ability to catch frisbees.

He shows promise... no worries!! If only he'd be more interested in catching the frisbee than tackling Geds  :p: :bowl:
