Rachel Elliott, reknowned breeder of goldens and author has passed away. Her memorial service in Concord Mass. must have been very moving, with 100 golden retrievers, wearing tartan scarves, all standing in a silent tribute. I could not copy and paste the photo here, but If you google 'Rachel Elliot', there is a photo of the service with 50 beautiful goldens all standing at attention. Very beautiful and such a "Fitting tribute to friend of Goldens."
The following article was in the Boston Herald today.

Sorrowful dog owners, grieving loved ones and about 100 golden retrievers paid respects to beloved dog breeder and author Rachel Page Elliott in Concord yesterday in a tribute to Elliott’s lifelong work breeding and caring for golden retrievers.

Lined up outside the service, the dogs - adorned in plaid kerchiefs around their furry necks - stood at attention with their owners to honor the life of Elliott, who died Friday. A 1935 graduate of Radcliffe College, Elliot raised more than 50 litters of goldens over the past four decades and authored several books about her experiences.
