I'm cooped up in the house with a sick baby - can you tell? :bowl::bowl::bowl:

Anyway, thought I'd see what people's favorite Golden breeder sites are - not so much the dogs etc. but the layouts, design and so on. DH designs websites and may be doing a few breeder ones coming up, thought I'd get some imput on what people like in general. Goldens of course would be my first pick but any breed really so he gets the idea of what's good and not so good.

I like anything that is easy to navigate. Not only in breeder sites but any site that I go to. Nothing is worse that not being able to find something that should obviously be listed. I like organization!!! :)

This is a Newf breeder. I don't know them, but my husband has his eye on a Newf and we've looked at this site. Anyway, I like the organization here. It is simple, not over the top. Easy to use.

I really enjoy Delmarva Goldens site and the Birnam Wood site. I love the look of the Delmarva site. It's easy to navigate as well, and Sue makes it fun with great pictures, commentary and regular updates. The Birnam Wood site is beautiful and a place to get lost enjoying the history of so many great goldens. I'm anxious to see all the postings in this thread, because I love visiting golden retriever breeder sites.

Jackie Mertens Topbrass site is a treasure-trove of field dog history, health and training information etc. http://www.topbrass-retrievers.com/

The goodbye page for Kirby makes me cry every time- we'll walk again. . . just not today. . .http://www.rushhill.com/farewell.htmhttp://www.rushhill.com/

Oh, yes, that Kirby goodbye page always tears me up -- the photo, the realization of the timing of the photo, the words -- and yet I keep going back. Every golden lover looks at that page and remembers the walk with the treasured companion and longs for another walk someday.

Thanks for the Jackie Mertens recommendation. I will definitely go lurk there.

The Birnam Wood site is my ultimate favorite. It was 5 years in the making. Not only is it a beautiful site, it is rich in history, and depicts the evolution of a very successful and long-lived breeding program.
