Whenever I tell Murphy "no", he hangs his head and acts like the whole world is crashing down, lol. It's actually quite hard to walk away and not cuddle with him. I think that's his plan though. :) I'm just wondering if this is a golden trait or did I just get lucky, lol?

I think it is a golden trait. Mine will pout and look like their world has crashed if I tell them no or stop doing something.

Jonah thinks it is a game and wags his tail even more! One time he kept doing something naughty and I had had enough. I thumped his nose and told him no! That got his attention and he had very hurt feelings. He laid down and wouldn't look at me. I felt so rotten.

Oh yeah! It is definitely a golden thing, although probably other breeds have discovered it too--my friend's Boston terrier is notorious. Casey gives me a withering look, then lies down and puts his head between his paws. Very sad!

Definitely a golden thing! When Brady pouts he will stuff a stuffed animal in his mouth so that his cheeks puff out, and he will sulk with his head on the floor between his paws. They are too smart for our own good!!

Yes!! Poor Chester had that look this morning. Dad didn't take him outside for his game of tennis ball this morning (It was RAINING) but Chester didn't care. He took himself upstairs and went to his crate. I should have taken a picture of that sad face.

Not so much with our female, Lacey, but definitely with our male Logan. He goes and sulks in the corner. However, our Corgi, Ralphie does it as well. If he gets in trouble he literally hangs his head, and scuffles his little feet on the floor as he walks away. Of course the entire time he is walking away he is giving you the evil eye. HA!

Our new rescue girl Roxy is quite an athlete. She is an enthusiastic ball and frisbee retriever. Our older golden Elliot refuses to play any more and pouts in the fenced yard when I play with Roxy. I'm trying to find something special for him to do.

Max doesn't really pout. He just hangs his head between his paws with the most heart broken look. Di on the other hand is so calculating. If she really gets told no. She will hang her head way down and literally put herself in the corner facing the wall. You really have to beg her to come out! I have no idea how she knows to put herself in the corner. She must be watching too much tv.
