To write, draw, etc? Poems, short stories, etc? Let's post up!

I need to search my PC for my poems, but here's a memorized bit... written from the perspective of my puppy- what I think he feels about a day on the beach :)

Ah, bliss!
Summer sunshine rays
Oh, mist!
Foamy sea sprays
Just this!
All I need for happy days...

Yes Julie inspires me--I watch how she is happy to see every foster I bring home. I just put the food down--she teaches them to be a dog again.

Honest--I can't get down the street for a walk with her--everyone knows Julie--it is a chorus of Julie! Julie! everywhere we go, people come off their porches and to the street to love on her. The vet tech even has pics of Julie on her personal website.

I am just glad to be along for the ride!

Here's a poem about taking my now senior Whippet out to lure course again. Lure coursing is a field sport where Greyhounds and other sighthounds chase a lure that looks to them like a rabbit and are judged on speed and agility. They LOVE it, and it's the only time you'll ever see most Whippets wake up from the continuous nap they call life ;)

This, by the way, is indeed, my heart dog:

To take an old hound out again
Is to see him light up from within
I watch him quiver with familiar delight
As open fields meet new daylight
His black eyes shine a hint of blue
Yet still they see my soul straight through
Soft edges instead on what before
Was once a lithe and cutting form
Still there I see an ageless grace
In movement -in repose- in that face
Silken ears surround the spot upon
His perfumed head and just beyond
That soft warm comfort I cried into
All those years, yet still far too few
The lure hums its mundane tune
He waits for Tally-Ho, then zoom!
My heart leaps about my chest
An old dog needs his comfort and rest
Yet as he flies across the green
My tears flow down in steady stream
Nothing is more fitting than this
An old hound in his ultimate bliss
Familiar dancing in those eyes
We head home, contented sighs
My old hound snoozes for the ride
His glory restored, my heart full of pride
To take my old hound out again
To see him light up from within

Inspired imagery, Aqua Clara, you really express his joy and yours. Would you object if I share your poem, with name credit, with my sister-in-law? She has a rescue Greyhoud. As for me, I have drawings and doodles of Bentley in pencil, pastel and watercolor all over the house. As soon as I figure out photography, I'll try to share.
