Sorry long story... but i am wondering if anyone elses does has the same routine.
We have started to notice in the last week that Jaxson asks to go to bed in his crate for the night.
The door is always open to his crate and its down the hall in an open area at the base of the stairs. (our bedroom is on the basement btw) He will asked to go out (the door to the backyard is in our bedroom), then after 5 mins ask to come in.
If the door is open to the hall he runs to check his crate for treats. The reason he does this is we put treats in his bed for a night time surprise when we put him to bed. In the last week he will run in check his crate, no treats are there until we put him into bed, so he will run will ask to go back out and then 30 secs later ask to come in.
At first we thought this was a new game, but we caught on quick. He is asking to go to bed. So now after the check and his first time asking to go back out we get a treat and he runs to bed. He does it at around 8:30 each night and will stay there till we let him out in the morning. We can walk past, turn the lights on and make noise and he doesnt care to come out (it is covered). He is a very light sleeper durring the day, so I know he hears us, he just likes his time alone I think.
