Do you have a pet insurance for your doggie?

I was just wondering how many of you have the pet insurance for your doggie. I currently have Trupanion Pet Insurance for my Pochi just in case he gets sick or requires immediate attention of the Vet. Any inputs on this topic? Lets talk about it!!

We don't have pet insurance for Timber but I have learned through experience and we have a separate account for any pet expenses.
I put $15 a pay away (that's about $60/month) and it is used for only expenses incurred by Timber.
We have Petplan for both of our dogs. We pay $19.99 a month for each dog, which is their gold plan. We have never had to use it, but it's good to know that it's there in case we do end up needing it, especially with our GSD being almost 11.
petplan basic plan. hope to never use it, will always have it. does anyone know if they will prorate my plan if he gets chipped and clipped next month?
Yes, I have PetPlan for both my dogs. I have nothing but good things to say about the company and would recommend it to anyone.
It's already come in real handy with my Gunner.
Lucy has Pet Plan, and we'll get Dory under Pet Plan as well after she's microchipped next month.
My rescue lab came with a 30 day free plan with ShelterCare. To extend it will cost $24.95/mo and that is the basic plan. I might look into Pet Plan. For those that have had it for any period of time, do the rates hold steady or do the go out the roof as the pet grows older?

My policy has renewed a couple times and its stayed the same, though my dogs are both still young and haven't had any claims so I can't say if it would go up in those cases.

PS - I also have PetPlan for my dogs.

Hmmmm........sounds promising. My quote for $200/ded 80% reimbursement is $113.65/yr for bronze plan and $142.06/yr for gold plan. The bronze averages out to $9.47/mo. Pretty cheap for catastrophic coverage.

I assume the pet owner files the claim as opposed to the vet clinic?
I had insurance on Pippa until August of this year. The premiums went up to $80 per month with only 70% coverage and a $100 deductable per year. I canceled and decided to put that $80 per month into a no fee savings account for emergency veterinary care. Just yesterday I had an emergency with Pippa and had to rush her to the vet for treatment when she ate some pills thrown on the sidewalk. My bill for her treatment yesterday was less than two months insurance premiums!!!!!
We have PetPlan for Bailey and pay 25$ a month for 200$ deductible and 100% covered after that. So far we haven't gotten anything greater than 200$.
i have one from pet secure, but i think that giving them a separate accont might the better idea than giving money to insurace company every month.
I considered having insurance for Mad, but went the route of a Maddie bank account. Unfortuantely Mad had to have surgery for a calcinosis growth when she was a year old, and has congenital kindney disease so even though it started out with a balance and I put $75.00 a month in, her account has been empty now for a while. I suspect with her large medical file her premiums would be outrageous now anyway.

I will be getting insurance for any future dogs.
