i saw KayCee griee for Hunter. She was under the table and not on the sofa with me (and whre hunter shtook honey to pull KayCee ut of the depression after Hunter died. I know she truly cared abut her brother and he about her. When she had knee surgres he would lay beside her and lick her face.

Why did Grey Friars Bobby spend many years sleeping on his master's grave, only leaving to eat? His master could do nothing for him, others could. But he prefered to stay with the he had loved and who had loved him so much. That had to be love.

Just as with humans, i think some dogs love more than others, some probably not at all as some humans are like that. Protecting family may be instinct, but that would also be instinct with humans and when a Mom or Dad puts thir life on the line for a child, it is called LOVE. So is it instinct or is it love? I say love.

Why does Honey run up and give me two licks across the face and then run out to watch for squirrels? Licking my face 2-3 swipes won't cause squirrel to be in the trees or on the power line. It certainly isn't bcause my face is salty (as I have for years dogs lick because skin tastes salty)It isn't because i am going to feed her. She doesn't hang around for pats on the head or ear rubs, she is in a rush to get outside _door is almost always open. We know they get angry, and they most certainly feel jealousy--if one of mine is getting attention, even just being talked to, her comes the other to get attention. They feel fear. When i come in and honey greets me with her head down and twisted, her tail down but wagging fast, i know i will find a chewed up piece of paper, an envelope with corner chewed off, a toilet paper oller cshredded. She knews that is stuff she isn't suppose to do and she knows she will be scolded, but never hit or yelled at. She knows she did wrong. I think if they can have all these other other emotions, they can have love in their own way.
