Despite all of the things you listed being on him, a dog really shouldn't be bathed weekly. A high velocity dryer and a good brush will fix it right up. I have had my dogs roll in poop, mud, you name it. Let it dry, brush it out, good to go. When we went to the beach I just rinsed her off with clean water and blew her out. My golden gets a real bath about every 6 weeks and my other dogs maybe every 6 months?
My only experience with Dawn was when a dose of Frontline Gold literally melted the hair and top layer of skin right off my goldens back. My groomer doused her with dawn to try to get what was left off her skin. Her coat felt like straw for a month. I don't recommend dawn for anything but washing dishes.

So now I'm wondering how often people give their Golden's a bath. Is there such a thing as waiting too long?

Every 5-6 weeks she gets groomed.
