Dawn dish soap?

Dawn is usually the top rated de greaser/cleaner in tests for washing dishes. That means it is stripping natural oils out of your skin. I'd save that for when he's gotten into something greasy or something that seems chemical based. I just don't think it's going to be good idea for his skin once or twice a week.

There are Goldens who have an oilier coat who smell more, and more quickly than other Goldens. My first one had an oilier coat than subsequent Goldens. I get that more bathing might not bother an oilier dog as much. I'd still stick with a gentler shampoo and probably try to do a clean water rinse if it's more than once a week.
