Hey guys! Wow i haven't been on in a long time!

Since Brutus is over a year old I want to switch to a food with higher protein and grain free and I found Taste of The Wild (which has a sensible guaranteed analysis percentages). Anybody have experience with it?

Also, Max (who is eating Wellness Core) has started over the past couple of months, eating Brutus' food (both when he Bru was being fed California Natural and even more so now that he's being switched over to TOTW). Could he be doing this because he's not getting all the nutrition he craves out of his own food? Or just that TOTW has more flavor?

I would love to switch them both to the same food but I'm hestitant because of the problems Max had in the past, even though he had the issues when on a crappy vet-recommended food, Wellness Core seemed to solve the problems.

Max just got his annual blood work done and he a very healthy boy. Starting yesterday, I've been adding a 1/4 cup of TOTW to his food and so far so good. Do you think I should try to fully switch him over to TOTW since he seems to really like it? Or should I play it safe with him and keep him on a food that I know he does very well on and maybe add some green beans or something for flavor?

I don't want to have to keep chasing Max out of Bru's bowl every day...twice a day...or more if he's in a stubborn mood.

Our Large golden girls were on Canidae platinum
for year or so..

we decided to switch" for a change only" to TOTW.

No problems at all..
we started with a quarter cup less Canidae and put in quarter cup TOTW..\
After 4 days they were totally on the roasted duck/fowl formula.. wetlands Canine I think then Pacific Salmon.

we are back on Canidae after 6 months for same reason of change only..
feeding the same ole same ole year after year is not a problem and switching between 2 brands every 6 months isn't either as long as stools are firm.

I just read a post on here and on another forum about a voluntary recall of the Pacific formula....which is of course, what I bought. The dates referring to the bags that should be checked or returned are all different. Do you know the right date?
Brutus doesn't seem to like this flavor very much. Sometime he'll chow down and other times he'll walk away and let Max finish it off.

Brutus is 99% switched to TOTW and so far so good. Max is only 1/4 of the way there (going VERY slowly with him), but he had trouble going to the bathroom yesterday but seemed fine this morning.

I made the same switch (CN to TOTW) about 2 months ago due to digestive problems. TOTW cleared that up great (no more soft stools), but my dog just doesn't like TOTW. I tried the pacific stream formula first, which he started to refused to eat when the bag was about half done. I switched to the high prairie formula, and had the same problem. After a week or so he lost interest in eating.

I was really surprised because he was previously a chow hound. I even had to put a rock in his bowl to slow him down. I can't say 100% it's the food itself; maybe he just is going through a phase. Either way, I'm returning the rest of the bag today and trying something different.

It works for some with allergies, but I don't think it's considered a low allergy food.

Natural Balance and California Natural are considered low-allergy foods. I'm sure others are but these are the ones I know about. I've used CN and had great results (Herring and Sweet Potato formula).

I've been feeding it to Jester and he loves it. His coat and stools are good but he got gassy and his ears got goopy  Just goes to show that every dog is different. We are trying Fromm 4 Star now.
