Moderator position Update;

Recently, the GRF moderator team decided to merge the positions of Super Moderator and Global Moderator into just Super Moderators so that all moderators would have the same responsibilities. Our two Global Moderators were offered the opportunity to become Super Moderators, but CarolinaCasey and Goldenjackpuppy declined to upgrade their positions. They have both therefore left the moderator team. No other changes are being made to the moderator team at this time.

We will miss Goldenjackpuppy and CarolinaCasey as a part of the team and we want to sincerely thank them for their service to the forum !!

RobsGRs, can you explain the difference between super moderator and global moderator?

Below were the descriptions of each category.


Global Moderators have permissions do the job of a moderator but across all forums and sub-forums. They are more for moving threads, sorting through the reported posts, locking threads, various edits, monitoring signature sizes and assisting members as needed. Global Moderators can also issue Warnings/Infractions as they choose. They can permanently ban spammers and take care of any posts the spammers created. Global Moderators cannot directly temporarily ban a member but can discuss it with the Super Moderators and Administrators.

Super Moderators normally spend their days reviewing the registrations profiles of all the new members, as well as all the duties of a Global Moderator. Super Moderators can also change signatures, profile pictures, avatars, and permanently ban or unbar uses. Super Moderators banning of users can include temporary bans. A temporary ban is normally done in a group decision first, but if warranted, they are free to issue a temporary ban on their own then notify the rest of the forum management team. If the board goes down the Super Moderators can alert the tech team. The Super Moderators also assist in the policy making decisions of this board.

Administrators (Lead and Forum Administrators) are responsible for the board at large. They keep control of user groups, the promotion between them and keep permissions in check. They will deal with users and their accounts, such as password issues, permissions issues and other things that might go wrong. Administrators deal with the forums themselves such as creating, moving and deleting sections and/or forums as they see the need. The “Forum Administrator” will also do all of the above duties of the Global and Super Moderators. Only the “Lead Administrator” (Yung) is responsible for what permissions are given to the Forum Administrator. The Lead Administrator is responsible for all paid subscription issues as well as contacting the tech team with non-emergency technical issues that may arise.

I strongly second this. I hope you'll come back as Super Mods someday. :wavey:
