I can't believe that beautiful golden was "dropped off' at a shelter. It makes me sick!!!
I hope she finds a home fast, poor baby.

 

That is very sad But you can spay her when her milk has dried up. My girl who whelped her litter just 6.5 weeks ago has been dry for about 3 days now.

We just picked her up last evening & are fostering her for rescue. She does have a tail!! She is wagging it more as she becomes more comfortable with her surroundings.
She is just the sweetest thing. I was just concerned because it seems she is hanging so low, she doesn't seem to be uncomfortable at all. I have no experience with females, and to have one so soon after having puppies, I thought this was the best place to go for advice!

 

God, PLEASE have Satan reserve the seat right next to Mike Vick for whoever dropped this girl off. I can't imagine anything that could justify this. It is enough to make a grown man cry. How truly sad and pathetic. WOW!

 

What I want to know is what happened to her puppies?????? Were they dropped at the shelter also? Hank is right, there has to be a special place in Hell for people like that. She is a beauty.

 

I was asking because I couldn't see her tail, and we had one that we pulled from a shelter who had no tail. The owner who dumped her there said he had her tail docked so that she didn't get so dirty when she was having litter after litter. Well, he didn't say litter after litter, but she was 8 years old and had teats that hung almost to the ground, too.

She is 6. I guess the puppies were all sold. The reason her "owner" gave for turning her in was that she was too old,

Yes, they did draw back up. But it will always be obvious that she has had several litters.

 

Wow. Poor sweet girl... It would obviously depend upon when the puppies were weaned, (or if something awful happened to them) but I would say that since she is still with milk, she could have whelped anywhere from days to about 4-6 weeks ago. Is she having any vaginal discharge?

No discharge.
She seems quite happy & content. We introduced her to our crew tonight and that went much more smoothly than I was expecting.

 

Poor girl and I have to repeat what Hank said. I pray that she finds her furever home and can be spoiled for the rest of her life.

 

Aw poor girl! She was probably a BYB's dog and was "retired"...straight to the shelter. :no: Give her a big kiss from all of us! Has she been vetted yet? The vet should be able to advise about the spay.

I'm sure it's very shocking to her to be dropped off at the shelter like that. Hopefully the puppies were weened already and are doing ok. Kind of makes me mad to think someone would even consider doing that to such a beautiful dog.

 

It makes me furious! I hope and pray someone adopts this beautiful girl! Wish I was there.

Just wondering how your girl is doing today? Is she still bagged up?

 

She is doing quite well today. I am sure she still has some milk in there, but nothing feels warm to the touch and she doesn't seem to have any discomfort.

She is getting along well with the 3 boys and is just a really pleasant dog.
