It all began with a little azalea bush, stuck in the corner. I thought, that with a little creativity, I could use that little bush to really spruce the place up….

First, I took the paper off the pot and put one of my favorite toys in the center. I thought the red really stood out with that pretty green paper all around. (I’ve been watching the Home Decorating shows…color, color, color! Green is In!)

Next, I thought the foyer needed a little green too, and I was going for that organic welcoming look by the front door…see how I carefully arranged the leaves going out?

Finally, the lady came downstairs to see what I had done, I was so proud of my decorating expertise, I mean honestly, I’m still pretty young (not to mention I don’t have opposing thumbs) and I thought I was off to a good start!

But, she indicated that she was far from happy…in fact, she seemed pretty upset. It wasn’t like those shows on TV at all..you know the ones where the lady comes in and squeals, “Oh my GOD, this is B E A U T I F U L!! Thank you so much!! I can’t believe it!!!”
To be honest, besides being a little hurt, I was a little indignant…the greens really did brighten the place up didn’t they??

Then, if you can believe it, she asked that loud, obnoxious, never -do - anything - unless -it – is - pushed, never – take - any -initiative Dyson Animal to suck all my hard work up!! I guess my home interior-decorating career is over.

If you have any stories about being misunderstood, I'd sure like to hear them...I'm thinking of forming a support group.

I totally get what you were trying to do with the decorating.

I tried to help mom with the yard work. Did she appreciate my efforts? No way.
I helped with the pruning.

I told her I could help with the planting. I got a head start.

She told me to go guard something instead.
This shoe doesn't stand a chance of running away.

Love, Lucy (that's an order!)

Ranger, honey, you can come spruce up my house with that darling face of yours, and I won't hold the lack of opposable thumbs against you. Finn can't share your torment, as he is never misunderstood:)

Dear "misunderstood Ranger",

You did beautifully with your first interior design attempt! You have that "indignant" look down pat, for sure! LOL

I need much more color in my house; you're welcome any time! ;)

Ranger,

You are truly misunderstood and underappreciated. They didn't appreciate all the thought and effort that you put into this project. Maybe next time you should try helping out in the kitchen.

Faith sends her sympathy, she knows how hard it is for the humans to understand how doggies like to decorate.

For Ranger...

Dear Ranger,

I seriously suck at home decorating.....and 'house cleaning' too, for that matter. You can come over & spruce up my place any time. Max will be more than happy to help with the labor, he's a hard worker, but doesn't really have the idea for design. Like mother, like son, I guess.

Just a Note: I'm not all that fond of green, in general, but I'll leave those decisions up to you....the expert. Great job you did at your place, sorry your mom didn't appreciate your considerable skill.

Thank you,
Trids

Remember Ranger, true genuis often goes unappreciated by the masses. Stick with it and eventually they'll recognize your abilities for what they are.

Ranger, I think you tried to do too much too soon. With art of your caliber, you need to ease some folks into it. If you just BAM! everything at once, the humans have a sort of overload and tend to freak out all over the place. So, my advice is to take it slow, the green paper and toy would have been a great place to start, that belonged in a gallery!
