So every year on or about Veterans day Sportclips (our franchise) does a fundraiser to raise money to donate phone minutes for our soldiers, worldwide, to be able to call home and talk to their families during the holidays (and beyond).

We work this very hard here, we so believe in the cause. We have raised enough money to send a thousand hours to our guys to call home. The stylists went out at the Iowa/Indiana football game to just pass the hat and they raised a thousand dollars. They cut hair for free, they believe in the cause.

We match and endorse the whole event, buddy, call your mom . And if you have a local Sportsclips, go donate.

If you want to donate for phone cards for the military you can do so thru Operation Uplink thru the VFW. Reading the page, Sportsclip is one of the company that works with them. Here is the info

Thru the Ladies Auxillary at our chapter that is one of my programs. I am in charge of also of the Unmet Needs that offers grants of up to $2500 for unmet needs of the military. Like a large car breakdown. Right now with people being transferred and homes not selling, mortgages becoming delinquent it helps to make payments for them. This weekend we raised $800 for the programs thru a garage sale and bake sale.
