My kids have been ill for a few days, and the sleepless nights are catching up with me - poor Joy! No walk yesterday or today! (You can't walk anywhere from our house - we have to drive to the park.) I've been doing lots of extra fetch play in the yard with her, extra tug play in the house, and extra training. She doesn't seem any the worse for it, but I feel all at sea. I LOVE our daily walks, especially in the woods. Tomorrow DH will be home in the morning to be with the kids, and I will take Miss Joy then.

Any suggestions for other ways to keep Joy engaged when we can't get to our regular exercise?

She's asleep on the floor now! Guess she's not too worked up about it......

knowing goldens, she probably knows that her humans are sick, and is fine with a few days of rest. good luck with them getting better

I bet she isnt too unhappy without all the exercise if she is sleeping on the floor. They seem to know when you are needed to give more care to the little ones.

I agree with the others that goldens sense when something is amiss and they need to lay low. Give them some good off leash time when the coast is clear and they will forgive you.
