I wanted to get everyone's opinions on boarding there dogs whenever on vacation. My trainer that I'm recently going to for Diego does boarding, and I really like how dogs sleep indoors, get two walks a day, and are provided with plenty of exercise. She's very personal, and I like her a lot. Although, Diego doesn't have doggy manners and shows aggression to other large dogs, are dogs like him not allowed? I might ask her. What are you guys thoughts on boarding your dogs for a week? Do you think it is too long? I wouldn't want anybody staying at the house watching them because I did that one time and I came back to very pudgy and untrained Goldens. The other option would be to take the dogs with us. Advice?

I think this ended up in the wrong forum.

I don't board my dogs, but I do board dogs in my home. Depending on the behavior, they may be just a part of the pack, or I may keep them separated from my dogs. I also take care of dogs in other people's homes.

One benefit that you may get from boarding him at the trainer who is familiar with him is maybe she will continue to work with him while you are on vacation. All of my boarders are either dogs we have done boarding school training (they live with us for 3 weeks) with or they are previous fosters. Either way, I know how they interact, or don't interact, with my dogs and cats.
