Bailey was playing with her best friend Bella(british black lab) yesterday and she hurt her front leg. I was watching them the whole time, but I don't know how it happened, they don't play that rough. Bailey limped home and I've been having her take it easy. Today she is still limping, but not as bad. It seems she limps more when she gets up from laying down for a period of time. When she is up for a while, you can hardly see her limping.

Do I need to be concerned about this and take her to the vet's tomorrow? I haven't been walking her or playing fetch. I've been keeping her calm. Maybe take her in a couple days if she is still limping? I wonder what she did to hurt herself.

Poor Bailey, give her lots of hugs and kisses and tell her to feel better soon. I would just keep her quiet for a couple more days and see if she improves. If it does not get better I would have some x-rays done. Have you checked for heat and swelling? Also I try to move their leg slowly to see where the "ouchy" spots are.

I did check for swelling, but I did not move her leg much. I didn't want to hurt her more then she already is. It looks normal to me.

It sounds like a muscle or soft tissue problem, if it gets still when she lies down for awhile. It should heal quickly. The test I usually use is to offer a favorite treat when he/she is up and about and see if there is any hesitation running to get it.

I would wait another day. Just keep her calm and try to keep her from jumping. Hopefully she will be all better but if not then I would get her into the vet. Good luck.

So sorry Bailey hurt herself. My Bailey hurt herself yesterday while we were playing ball and she is limping some. I hope your Bailey and my Bailey will be better in a few days! To beat it all last night Bailey had hiccups off and on all night long. Luckily today no hiccups, but she did chase a buck this morning!

Bailey is doing a bit better, but still has a limp. Gosh, it's so hard not to play fetch with her.lol I'm still holding off on the walking too for at least another week. I don't want her to get hurt more then she already is. Of course she has the zoomies. I love the zoomies, especially when they make up their own obstacle course in the house.

Bailey

If it doesn't get better by tomorrow I would take Bailey to the vet to have it looked at.
