Having a hard time coming up with suitable name for this 14-week old puppy. He's unique in that he was born as a singleton, and also was born exactly one month before our 15 month old puppy sadly, and suddenly passed away. It was very devasting loss last August 18th. This pup was given to us 2 months later from the breeder where we got our late puppy to help heal our hearts, which he is definitely doing. Attached is a picture of our lovely puppy. We were thinking Murphy, Quentin, Cooper, Miles, but none of these float our boat, although I kind of like Quentin because its not very common for this unique puppy.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Uneco...or Neco....Italian for Only.

Desilu...I LOVE LOVE your dogs names!!!! My second pup is named Lucy, and I wished I had named my first Ricky...but I love Desi so much more. I had gotten my first pup 3 months before Lucy...so who would of thunk it.....I used to LOVE that show when I was younger.

You do realize that quentin means "fifth"? Some others:

Dante (meaning: "steadfast")
Niko (victor)
Zoltan (life)
Jivan (life)
Cosmo (order, beauty)
Felix (happy, lucky)
Hugo (spirit)
Lucan (light)
Milo (soldier)

etc...I used http://www.20000-names.com/ to find the name of my puppy. You also have the possibility to search for 'theme' names, or special subjects. Good luck!

I'm sorry for the loss of your older pup, that must have come as a devastating shock. I'm sure your new pup will help you heal...puppies tend to do that. I like the name Galen that was suggested. Very different, has an appropriate meaning, and sounds very strong. Your little guy is very cute and I'm sure whichever name he's given, he'll wear it proudly.

Somehow I seem to be coming back to this thread...As you like 'Quentin", I looked for more Q- names that do not have the 5 association:
Quinn (counsel)
Quinlan (strong) also spelled as Conlan

Will you let us know what it will be in the end???

He looks like he has a little halo on his head. Maybe it's just the picture.

Gab (gabriel) or even halo? or Raphael (Angel of Healing "divine healer" grants joy, love, grace and creativity)

August....i like this name as well.

Lucy is named for Lucille Ball, that wonderful red-headed comedienne. Desi came to me named Daisy. She is the least flower-like dog, so I wanted to make a change there. I considered Rikki, but went with Desi, sinc it was so close to her original name.
