We are picking up Payton on Saturday :bowl: and I'm getting everything ready for her arrival. A co-worker gave me an antler and seeing as I've never given a dog an antler I have a question. The antler he gave me is a 4 point little one. Two of the points look like they have had the tip broken off. Is it OK to give to her? Since the tips are broken off, is it more likely to splinter?

The safe way to give antlers is to sand down or saw off the tips, so they are not as sharp.

I have never had an antler splinter or break, although the dogs have been able to chew off pieces over time. When that happens, I take the pieces away so they don't choke on them.
