I thought it would be more helpful if i posted this here rather than just in the puppy section since most here with adult dogs would have gone through the teething stage.

So all my pups teeth have come in fine so far, except for 2 of them, this is kind of hard to describe, but the tooth that is like the big 'fang' tooth has come in NEXT to the baby tooth instead of under it and pushing it out and making it loose like the rest of the teeth came in. Its like this on Both sides of his mouth on that same tooth and i've tried wiggling the baby ones but they arent loose at all, so now basically he has 2 baby 'fangs' and one adult one growing next to them.

This is abornmal right? Are They meant to be loose like the others? I'm guessing yes which means i guess i should be taking him to the vet to get them pulled out?

I just took a pic of the one side of his mouth...

Do you think they'll fall out soon or should i take him to the vet.

Hope this makes sense.

Anyway, here are some pics, the thinner, longer more yellowish tooth is the baby one, and the one next to it is the new one that was SUPPOSED to replace that one, but now he has 2 instead

I would give him some more time and wiggle a couple times a day and offer him plenty of things to chew....his new teeth still may push out the baby teeth...

Rufus had the same thing. At 6 months of age our vet suggested we give them a bit more time and if they didn't come out on their own we could have them extracted. I really didn't want that to happen so I started wiggling them a few times a day as our vet suggested. One day when he was just shy of 7 months he was chomping on something and one fell out..two days later the other one fell out..and there was great celebration at our house!

I will try wiggling them everyday then.. :) Im sure it will take a while as they are not loose at all, but he's only 5months old i guess, still got alot of time.:crossfing
I prefer giving them stuff to chew on over manipulating them myself in order to prevent causing any malocclusion. There is only enough room in the mouth for the one canine on each side, and as the primary tooth pushes through, it will help to move out the decisuous tooth. Normal, natural chewing is preferable...

My puppy who is now 6 months old had the same problem. His came out on their own, but hubby had a nightly ritual of playing tug of war with a towel which probably helped it along. I remember when they were loose, there was many a night of a bloody towel. We used to rub ice on his gums to try to relieve any discomfort. He LOVESSSS ICE!
