Jed, our first golden retriever, is 3 months old. I recently moved him into a larger crate as he had outgrown his puppy crate. Two of the last 4 nights I have wakened in the morning to a huge mess - all smeared inside the crate and on Jed. Up until this time, since 8 weeks old, he has never had an accident in his crate. Is the problem the crate? It is much larger than his old one. It also seems like his bowels are 'looser'. Not sure what to do - a vet visit? a medium sized crate? He is about 25-30 lbs. now and I'd say the crate is for about a 60 lb. dog.

I'd get him to the vet and have a stool sample analyzed before doing anything else. He might have parasites or be sick.
