Teddy is an 80 pound 1 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. Teddy has a multiple BITE HISTORY through no fault of his own It's been due to his lack of training and improper handling. He's currently in a local shelter and is tagged as "Rescue Only". Teddy's issues are due to his former living situation. He's ok with other dogs, and "mostly" ok with cats. He's currently on meds to keep him calm, but this is only temporary until we can teach him what is acceptable. He is due to be euthanized tomorrow if we can't get a rescue commitment. If you know of a rescue that would help, he is currently in Delaware County Ohio. Humane Society of Delaware County, Ohio. 740-369-7387. Contact is Regan.

Thank you.

Last week I was contacted by a rescue friend of mine who wanted to pull the Golden Retriever I mentioned above. After much thought I agreed to foster Teddy and we drove Monday to pick him up. After all the cautions about his bite history he came home with us. He has not bit once. He gets along with our other two Goldens. Was crate trained quickly. I do admit that if you grab his collar to stop him from doing a behavior he will turn his head and put his mouth on your forearm but there is no bite. I tell him NO loudly and he stops mouthing. Yes @JerseyChris I don't know anything about his breeding. What I do know is that he was adopted by an elderly woman when he was 8 weeks old and promptly put on tranquilizers, then a shock collar then tied out in the back yard. He will be a project for sure but he deserved a chance to be a dog! He loves our backyard -- running, finding sticks, playing with toys. So, we fostered officially for about 4 hours and now he's a part of our family. I'll start a new thread about his new life with us.
