Hi All,

Max is outgrowing his crate at 4 1/2 months...it's an I-Crate and his head is now touching the inside top of the crate to the point where he can no longer sit up straight. (I've heard that the size is okay so long as their back doesn't touch the top, but it looks uncomfortable.) Anyway....

I'm thinking I need to buy a larger crate for him. I'm hoping some of you might have a better source than I do. I've tried Care-A-Lot Pet Supply (kills us with shipping costs) & Dr. Foster & Smith, but they both seem pricey in one way or another. I'm just looking for a decent price, not trying to find the "cheapest" possible.

Any recommendations appreciated! Thank you!

Not sure how they are for crates specifically but when I order dog supplies online I use: http://www.jbpet.com/ and also http://www.petedge.com/

Pet Edge has great deals on all sorts of products... but they do have a minimum order of $60 or you are charged a $7 processing fee. They have super fast shipping too. Here in So Cal it takes usually 2 days from when I order to get my stuff.

Don't forget places like Craigslist... I always see fairly inexpensive crates in there for MUCH less than the new ones!

One more thought, Wal-mart has pretty good prices on crates... That is where I got a few of mine from...

or try your local freecycle site, you will get one for free there and you can even offer your old one to someone who needs it.

You can also try amazon.com. I know not a regular dog site but I found some great offerings of soft crates there when I was looking for one so I am sure they would have a good selection of hard crates as well.

My favorite place is www.fetchdog.com. I have great luck with them, and they are always sending my coupons for 20% off and free shipping.

We used JBWholesale . This week they are offering .99 cents shipping for orders over $65! We use the 2 door folding crate by Midwest.. 42 inch. They are large and I feel the dogs have plenty of room.. They fold fast and easy and the 2 door feature makes postioning 2 crate easier when we travel, visit, ride in the truck, etc. Here is that link

You might want to PM Hank ( AmberKa ) as he has a site that is way cheaper that he has used .

For Crates my favourite was fortress pet crates but I can't find a working link to them anymore - I think I paid around $32 for my 36 inch expens
