We were the first family in our family to get a TV and on Sat. night my dad's parents, Daddy's older brother, his wife and their two kids (both older than me) and sometimes my Grandmothers sister & her husband would come to watch Tv with us. Sat. night fair was wrestling and I remember the names of two of the wrestlers---Gorgeous George and Little Benito. Then was Your Hit Parade with Russel Irons (spelling), Snooky Lanson, Giselle McKenzie and Dorothy Collins. Not sure of the spelling of the guys last names.
My favorite shoes from back then--Life of Riley with William Bendix, Rin Tin Tin, Zorro, Wagon Train, etc. and Fury on Sat. mornings.
We wore penny loafers and bobby sox to school--pants were not allowed unless it was below 28, but we girls wanted to dresss nice anyway. Net "can can" petticoats starched stuff to make our circle skirts stand out. Sweater Pins ( I still have a set of Sarah Coventry tht Mama got for him in the early 60's and they are like new.
