Does anyone remember...

How about Amos and Andy? Was one of my favorites!!!!!!! Along with Ted Mack and the Amatuer Hour.

And how about Axel and his treehouse with Carmen the nurse?

And Casey Jones?

And a whole host of other shows at that time I can't remember the names but I remember what some of the characters looked like.

Ardea, Jon Provost who played Timmy on Lassie from 1956 to '63 I think, has just published his biography "Timmy Is In the Well." It is really quite interesting. You get a view of the child actor's life from the inside plus comments from other child actors, people he worked with, family etc. And the best part is that it's told without complaining or whining or "poor me".

The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog...When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.- Senator George Vest, 1870
