I didn't get a chance to answer this until now about the size. I remembered because it's thundering here. Jasper is 60 lbs and about 22 1/2 inches and Jasmine is about 70 lbs, 21 inches but has a huge barrel chest. I have a large thundershirt and it fits both of them just fine.

I am going to get one for my Dexter tonight. He is having separation anxiety from me and trying to chew up the whole house if I even leave the room he is in! He is also very afraid of the car. I will keep everyone updated on how it works for him!

I ended up getting one about two years ago for my girl. She had developed Separation Anxiety and had become destructive.

I saw results immediately after putting it on her, she became calm and relaxed.

I have just found this thread as I have trouble with Grit. He starts drooling the minute he gets in the car and is sick in under 10 minutes of travelling. I have tried no food, pills, sitting in the front, middle and back. Nothing works. Would a thunder shirt help? As anyone experience of this for car sickness. He is not bothered by storms, people, loud noises, etc - just the car.

I think it would definitely be worth a try. My girl became so very calm and relaxed when she has it on.

My 10 month old Golden mix rescue hated car rides. He would drool a huge amount and if he even thought we were thinking of taking him in the car he would go in his crate so that we had a hard time getting at him. I got a large Thundershirt for him as he is 57 lbs and it fits him well with plenty of room to grow. The Thundershirt works well-his amount of drool decreased from a waterfall to a trickle and when I put the shirt on him, he goes to the door now and waits rather than hide in his crate. The only thing is that I do think it makes them hotter so I don't think I will leave it on him for an extended period of time.

Thanks for this information. I still have not bought one as they are quite expensive if it does not work. I would have to get the XL as he is 88 lbs.

Another vote for the thundershirt. In the last year or so Zoe's been very anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks. The thundershirt seems to calm her and she seems to like having me put it on. I've also tried it for long car rides. She's not usually anxious in the car but just can't seem to relax and settle when we're on the interstate. It seems to help there too. She's 62 - 65 lbs. and wears a large.
