OMG, you have got to be THE Jeanne and Angelo from the AIHA site. There I go by my name, Sandra! Hunter was my golden, killed by Proheart6. The Mom of the AIHA Springer, Cody is here also.

So hello and welcome to a great site. so many caring and knowledgeable folks herel When I am on the AIHA site i only talk about Hunter. I have his littermate sister, KayCee who is 8 1/2. She has had both knees operated on for luxating patellas, one at 16 months, the other 14 months later. She had an enlarged heart chamber and also a mal formed kidney, gut she is doing great and you would never know she had/has any medical probems at all.Honey is our adopted golcen mix. She was right at a year old when we adopted her Dec. 7, 2002, so we made that her official first birthday as well as adoption day. So she turned 6 this past Dec. She was heartworm positive when we adopted her and we had her treated and she had no ill effects from the orms or treatment. In face, our vet says her chest x-rays could be to show what the perfect dog chest looks like as far as heart, longs and artereis go.

I can't tell you often enough how thrilled that Angelo is doing so great. AIHA is such a horrible disease and any time a dog does as great as he has done it encourages others. Again, wlecome.

Hi Jeanne!

I posted on the Goldstock site that I met you briefly at the NJGRR-Inc. Reunion last fall. You took my pic with Mister. He was sitting on my lap. I was the one wondering which pic to choose because of my ball cap and shadows? I know, you must've taken like 75 photos that day...

Welcome again! I look forward to your excellent pics of your golden oldies!

Karen, Sunny and Mister

Yea Jeanne,
I'm so glad you joined. I would recognize Angelo anywhere from the AIHA site. He was my inspiration with my springer, Cody who is also now in remission. As you can see, we also have two golden sisters (littermates) who are 4. Hope you enjoy your time here..... there's lots of fun, friendship, and info. Again, welcome .... and thank you for all your posts and pics on the other site. They gave me hope and kept me sane during some very difficult times.

Thanks so much to EVERYONE for their warm welcome!!

Karen, of course I remember you and Mister from the Reunion and Goldstock as well! Glad you had fun, and I hope to see you again this year!

Penny & Sandra, I can't thank you enough for the kind words about my heart dog, Angelo. He will be 13 in a few weeks and I will be planning a small party for him. He has arthritis in his back legs along with severe muscle loss so we are doing everything we can to help him, which includes swimming at a Canine Aquatic Facility. As far as the AIHA goes, he is doing great and the Metacam that we started him on in Nov 2007 has not adversely affected him.

Here is a photo of my old guy that I took last month. Words can't describe how much I love this boy.

What a beautiful, precious old man he is. It is great that he has been able to take the metacam without any problems. I know everyone with ab AIHA dog is terrified to even try something new.

Isn't it something that some folks will go the ends of the earth for their beloved dogs and others will drop them off at the pound or shelter for reasons like dog hair in the house, is old and they want a puppy, just tired of having to give daily meds, etc. Angelos is a special boy and has a special love from his mom.
