Jules: GRF needs to add a "love" button, the "thanks" button isn't right for your post! Maggie is such a ham And so clever - she unzips her bed to snuggle inside?! Smart!

Barkley turns 1 today. We'll celebrate with a hike on the weekend, and possibly a trip to the beach (his first!) but today I let him run a bit at a park near our house (no one else was around or I'd never let him off leash). He's gotten lots of treats today (we'll be cutting back his dinner kibble for sure) and a couple of new toys are on their way from Amazon, as well as a new squeaky ball, because he killed the squeak in the last one within a day. I'm not sure if that means he loves it to death, or he hates it and wants it to stop squeaking

Took this pic yesterday; DH says he looks like he's 13 years old, not 1, but I think he looks handsome, refined and probably a bit spoiled since he's sitting on a bench clearly meant for humans, not dogs Love this dog!! So happy he's in our family!! Happy Birthday to all the October (2018 especially) pups!!!

Happy Birthday Barkley! He is just gorgeous! Such nice coat. Sounds like he is going to have a super fun weekend!
Maggie is a huge ham Her new thing is when I say it is time for bed my other two head for the bedroom but Maggie lays down in the living room. I go to her and pretend I am picking her up. She becomes dead weight and rolls over onto her back for belly rubs! She has more personality than all of the dogs combined. I love them all but she is so special. Probably because I am losing my last baby at home next year and she is the replacement for all of my nurturing!!

Hi October 2018 pup people

Can you guys keep Hunter in your thoughts for the next couple of days? The DM has progressed to where he's barely able to stand, and is losing his bladder/bowel control. Our retired vet very kindly offered to come by to assess, and we're hopeful he'll be able to help Hunter over Rainbow Bridge (so we don't have to take into a strange vet's office). I hate, hate, hate, hate that we are having to say "when" AND "goodbye" again - it's breaking my heart. Degenerative Myelopathy is a b****. Excuse my language - I'm a weird combo of sad/mad right now. Hunter is a rescue we adopted in July 2017. We're so happy he joined our family, we just all really wish it was for longer than it will be

Off to snuggle with the boys. Thanks so much for the kind thoughts for Hunter.

I took this picture of Maggie today and thought "she looks like such a puppy"! This gate is supposed to prevent her from going behind the couch. She likes to play with the flaps and try to get underneath it. Now, she gets behind it and just lays down. Must be a secure feeling for her
