We plan to get a second puppy at some point. I'm wondering when is the best time, psychologically and emotionally, for our current puppy? While she is still little or when she is an established adult?
I'd wait till she is at least a year or so. More than one puppy at a time really takes away important training time, plus if you let her mature a little she'll be a great help training a new one and you'll have lots of time to create a bond with her.
Super cute puppy!
added: seeing the ages of your little ones I would truly wait until she is very settled, she hasn't even gotten to the landshark stage yet that can prove to be quite a handful in itself.
Thanks everyone! We will definitely wait about a year or so. I guess I just worried after reading some other posts that getting a new puppy after the first dog became an adult causes some issues.
It depends on the older dog. Our Penny will be 10 when we add the puppy. We think a puppy will be the perfect fit for her instead of an older dog. We want her to 'raise' the puppy to suit her playing habits.
