aaawww, what a sweet baby!!!! she's showing some interest in her food, so that is good...

I wonder....with ferrets, sometimes we make "duck soup" which is not really duck...it's chicken stock with pureed boiled chicken and a bit of kibble. We use this gruel when ferrets are critically ill. I wonder if....making a puree like that would be easier for her to lap it up...

I have tried the puree, but she just hates kibble. Tonight i will try again with the yummy wet food I got from the vet!

Such a little doll! How many times a day do you feed her?
I try to feed her 5 times a day 1 cup of food....but in reality she will eat maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup 2 maybe 3 times a day...I try to feed her often just in case she decides to eat.

One of you mentioned that ou fed your ferrett puree, well tonigh I soaked her dry kibble in water and then mixed in her rice and special wet food and blended it, and I about fell on the floor when she started lapping it up...this is a start We will see if she does it again.

If she's eating the rice, what about adding a hard-scrambled egg and some shredded cheese just to get some calories and protein in her?

That's just my idea, I'm certainly not an expert.
the egg could help with her tummy if she still has issues, so I think it would be a great idea!

She is so precious! I pray that she will begin to grow and thrive soon. Have you considered putting her on a bottle? If she was taken too soon from her mom maybe she will nurse more readily than actually eating. I know you are doing everything in your power for her, and she is very lucky to have someone to love her so much.

Just a thought but the rice baby food mixed into the "gruel" may be away to get some food into her too. It's fortified with vitamins, you could even mix in baby food meat and veggies to get her eating and then later on puree the kibble into it and begin to replace the baby cereal. The ice cube idea is great. Get her eating and then worry about moving her to dog food.

Thanks again. Most of these suggestions I have tried. She drinks gatorade everyday in her water, and I have dried the rice baby cereal mixed in and I have tried the meat baby food but she does not like it.

This morning I tried the puree again and she didnt eat. I was so happy last night, and felt discouraged this morning, but I will try again in a couple hours!

I've just read through Bobbie's Threads. I'm happy that you were able to get her to eat. If she didn't want to eat this morning, she may have still been full from her last meal. Maybe she'll be hungry and want to eat after she goes potty. Feeding her smaller portions more often is probably best for her.

Thank You for posting the pics, she's adorable. I added Bobbie to our Forum's Prayer List. I think she's a little fighter...and I hope she keeps fighting.

We go back to the new vet tomorrow, but she called me to chk on her...which I thought was super nice....She has not went poo now since sunday...but has had 2 anti poo shots and is on meds so I guess I cant blame her, but she is eating so it scares me..the vet said they will chk tomorrow if she stil hasnt gone, and give her meds to go...hahaha...goodness. Here are new pics from just a few mins ago. I got her a big girl bed for my office....um now Bobbies room...and she loved it...she got in then ran and got her favorite toys one by one and put them in and then just stayed...I also got a kong and am working on soaking some food in a little peanut butter for her...I hope she will eat it!!

I never imagined how much I was going to love her!! I cant imagine my life now with out her in it. No matter what I am soo happy she came to us!

I know the pig ear is bad!!!! My Mom yelled at me on Skype when she saw it...she was like ¨ Saah what the heck are you thinking get that thing away from her!!¨ I let her keep it from time to time and then take it away...she is not really eating it just knawing on it...I think it makes her teeth feel better...So I think if I monitor her with it she will be ok, but I wont let her eat it....=) Promise...I already have high enough vet bills!!! hehe

I suspect that this is in part the cause of her diarrhea - the smoke, salt brine, etc used gives many dogs diarrhea.

Exactly what I was thinking, very positive signs. Keep up what you are doing, it looks like it's working!

it seems like it goes hour by hour with her how we are doing....today the good...she got a big girl bed that she loves...and we took her brother to the park...I carried her in a front facing pack and she loved it! The bad, she wont eat today. I talked to the vet and she hadnt went potty cause of all the meds and shots...but about an hour ago she had diahrrea explosions x3 everywhere so I am confused and frustrated and sad for her. With anti diharrea shots on Sun and Mon and pills every 8 hours I have no idea how she still has bad poo....AHH!!!!!

She is active though...we played fetch 2x for about 20 mins each time today.

You, and your husband are in the service, american service? Is there not any american vets, on base?
He works for NATO. The base is only for military/ diplomat personel. I have looked and looked for vets. There is an English paper printed here that has services in it, but they didnt have a vet listed. I looked on Anglo websites and Expats websites and that is where I found the English Speaking one that I went to yesterday and will go back to tomorrow. they seem really compassionate and on the ball....I love my girl SO much, but she is killing me and my pocketbook....the hubby dosent know but I did the math and in the 2 weeks we have had her I have spent $800 at the vet and med supplies.....holy cow....its a good thing he is away on a mission, and not here to see this...but whatever I just want her to get over whatever this is and be healthy and be able to go outside before it is winter....ahhh...the joys of dog ownership!!
