So we just got home and I am bursting with joy...other than being hurried so I can clean her vomit out of the car, anyhow, we just got back from the vet and I am shocked she was 7.3lbs...is that possible? 2 days ago she was 6.2.....Can a dog have a growth spurt in 2 days causing them to gain a pound or do you think she is just full of poo....she went last night and today still diaharrea. She got her 5th injection today for her intestinges...we are still continuing with the treatments and.....

Monday she gets to get her first vacc!!!! I am so excited. The doctor said she would be able to for sure go outside in 3 weeks after her second shot!!!! Whoo hooo!! She also said he thinks she will be 9lbs by her next visit...lol...I got perscription food he wants me to keep her on...it is Royal Canin low fat intestine food...dont know how my baby can gain weight and grow on low fat adult food, but we are giving it a go....I got the wet and the dry, he told me not to soak the dry kibble anymore just to mix it less and less with the wet and hopefully we will get to the point where she will eat like a normal dog!!!

7.3 WOW!!!!!

On the 24 of August she was 4lbs now Sept 8, 7.3lbs! I know 3lbs dosent seem like a lot to some of you, but it makes me cry with happiness!! Seriously

Glad she's gaining weight. Yes, they can gain quickly, but her overnight weight gain is probably a bit of food still in her belly/ being hydrated/ and needing to go potty. :)

It sounds like she's doing great and is well on the road to becoming a happy healthy girl. Yay!

..for a pup as tiny as she was, 3 pounds is huge!

I'm so glad that Bobbie is improving. That is awesome news. I hope this means she has turned the corner and will soon be on the road to good health. You are a great mom for her.

BTW, when I lived in Moscow, the American embassy had an English-speaking vet who visited the embassy from time to time, to treat the pets of people who worked at the embassy (and I'm assuming, others who frequented the embassy as well). I was able to use the embassy hair dresser, cafeteria, commissary, etc., so maybe the embassy in Madrid offers a service. Just a thought.

Bobbie is such a sweetie!I'm sure she'll be ok.After all, what can scare a biiig 7.3 lbs girl. :) :) She's a very, very delicate and precious puppy and is beautiful.I'm worried about her previous vet though-his eyes seem to be in terrible condition-calling her ugly!I would first slap him in the face, and then send him to see an oftalmologist-urgent.
Anyway,i wish you patience and strenght-i think it will get easier with every few days that pass.Kiss little sweet Bobbie from me and my boy. :)

WOW!!!! That is a HUGE weight gain!!! Soooo awesome....I'm so happy for both of you!

I know she gets her shots soon, but I would not take her out until ten days after she gets her third. I know you want to play with your baby, but better be safe...

Example - Max is fourteen weeks and he's already had his three, but I still don't let him walk in public places because his last shot was last Wednesday....still not ten days....

Congrats!!!! hug your baby and a million smooches to her!!!!

Max says he wants a date with her in eight more months....

I'm glad to hear she is doing better. I agree with Laura though to keep the pig ears AWAY. Even if she is just gnawing on them, she's getting the brine and stuff they soak/spray them with. That alone is enough to cause GI disturbances. Also, I would NOT NOT NOT vaccinate a pup that is not 100% healthy. Vaccinations are huge assaults to the immune system, and with one that is not completely well to begin with, can cause some serious issues.
As far as food, if you can get The Honest Kitchen there, she might really enjoy it. It is a dehydrated raw which you reconstitute with warm water. It is the consistency of oatmeal. It is a complete and balanced diet so you'd know she is getting all the nutrients she needs and the correct calcium:phosphorous ratio so important for healthy growth.
