If you wonder 'why' you should get a golden, here it is. This is Stevie (11 months) and his cousin (my nephew) Duncan. He cuddled right down beside him and they started rolling Steve's ball around together. Never once did he do anything to frighten the baby, never was anything but incredibly gentle. He's a fast-moving, athletic puppy and here he was a perfect little buddy for Duncan, no crazy puppy antics or anything. Momma's proud of her little guy!

It was all so natural. Steve quietly lay down right there with his ball in his mouth, put it on the ground in front of the baby, and nudged it toward him. They both kind of nudged it back and forth for a while. I was suprised, as Steve is one of those super-intense fetch dogs, but he was very relaxed and didn't jump around trying to get a fetch game going. This pick makes up for all the puppy-stains on the carpet, that's for sure. I think some dogs are pretty intuitive about kids, but didn't expect it out of a 11 month old puppy!

Thats awsome. For the most part our puppy is very gentel with our one year old. Never nips or anything like that. Our baby is always giving and taking toys from the pup but the put is always good. On occassion the puppy will knock the baby down and that kinda ticks me off but its pretty rare that happens.
