SORRY, must be "how do you walk with 2+ Goldens" -.-llllllllll

I'm thinking to have another Golden, but the thing is Enzo pulling leash when he saw other dogs. So, I'm wondering how to walk two Goldens at the same time?

Lots of treats. It seems like when they KNOW I have treats in my pocket they behave a lot better. Once I tried walking without anything and I barely made it down my street before having to turn around.

Sometimes my husband and I will each walk one, and that goes well without treats. :D

I walk all three of mine with the Easy Walk Harness. Because of the harness, they don't pull and I can walk all three with one hand. Of course, they get walked very regularly and I have been known to turn around and take them right back home if they act up. Since they love their walks so much, they have learned to be really good when we are out.

Before getting the Easy Walk I dreaded walking one of my guys due to the "other dog thing". I usually only walk two at a time, unless it's a rainy day when no one else is on the public trail.
I'm a small woman (a real shrimp) with imperfect dogs (imperfect trainer!), but with this harness I have great control & confidence.

Off leash or with an "Easy" command( means loose leash, but not a full heel). Once each dog individually learns a nice loose leash walk with a clicker, treats, and some patience, you can walk 4.

I so agree with this. You have to show a dog how to handle the leash. For my foodie (Comet), food rewards for offering a loose leash pretty much clicked with him. For my guy who ignores all treats when he's too excited (Jax), we have a whole other program, which essentially boils down to the following: when he pulls, I stop. When he offers loose leash, I speed up.

With the stop/start method, you look like an insane person during the first training stages and during any reminder phases, but it works beautifully, and you don't have to rely on special equipment or on discomfort.

I walk my 2 together all the time. It's taken a lot of practice. I started when they were small walking them by themselves to get them used to "the rules" Now they are pretty good together, most of the time. With the 3rd Golden coming in Feb. I have been giving the walking them all together thing a lot of thought. Thinking I'd never be able to handle 3 at once on walks. But reading these posts gives me hope it can be done! I'm going to check out this Easy Walk Harness.

My girls were trained to heel individually and it was reenforced with taking classes. It was quite natural then for them to both walk on my left in heel position. We alternate walking them one on one and together. And I use two leashes with just either their regular collars or a martingale. Practice and training is the key.

I've tried a few different approaches in walking my two moderate pullers. First I tried to manage two Flexi Leashes  ...that was a dumb idea. next I tried the coupler with no success. I've finally settled on two 6' leashes tied together at the handles. With this arrangement I can walk them on heel with both of them on my left side or let them Lah-Di-Dah walk letting whichever one have more lead. As long as I pay attention they rarely get tangled or step over their lead.

I have learned that I have to have montana walking on my right and ripley on my left (she loves to be rite next to me). Monty lifts his leg to pee (only on walks) and had pee'd on her couple of times before I got it down pat. Plus you are always getting stopped by someone, makes for a long walk.

I walk both of mine at the same time every day - no problem. It took time to get there though. The key is to leash train each separately and then start putting them together. Bo tends to occasionally startle at loud noises and pulling us all (for example a boat cover blowing and ruffling in the wind), and since I had surgery this year that affected my left arm, I am walking him on a Halti. I tried a coupler for a while and that was a problem - Bo is a happier dog if he can turn his head around and look without being tethered to Bayley. Right before my surgery I also trained them to walk on a right lead for awhile and they caught on after a couple weeks - we are back to a left lead now. I think it's a matter of training, routine, and a little experimenting with leahes, collars, restraints, etc. to find out what combo works for your two.

We really struggled walking all 3 of our dogs...they all seemed to want to pull. We were bad and never enforced strict walking rules with Reno so sometimes he's all over the place (but seems to be getting better now). Although the puppies went to school and walked well there, they were a challenge at home. We finally got them to wear their haltis (all 3 of them) and now it's much easier. Normally I walk Austin and my hubby takes Reno and Lincoln. However, I can manage the 3 of them on shorter walks (except when the see a bunny).....OMG..then it is a MAJOR CHALLENGE!

We really have a hard time with leashes. Most of the time it is for the better since we see no one one our hikes. When we have them connected they tend to always go on different sides of trees. Yes they stop but that is such a pain for us. Guess we tend to avoid other people. It works for us.

Walk all three on regular 6'leashes. I've got really good at juggling the leashes from hand to hand. Yes it can be a nightmare meeting up with another dog! It's a workout to say the least! I'm now learning to walk them in heels..., another challenge :) Got tired of sneakers and wanted to look smarter for them!

My golden gets a gentle leader and a 6 foot leash and my mutt uses his regular collar and a 4 foot leash. The golden is on the 6' because if my mutt is even a tiny bit ahead of him, he'll pull to catch up to him. Buddy doesn't mind using a 4 foot leash, so it works out well.
