clearly he didn't have the money to care for the dogs in the first place and could have gotten them to a shelter.

He could afford to go on a cruise yet he couldn't afford to pay for his pets' boarding?????????? He sure has his priorities wrong! I hope that the fire department fire him!

I just can't wrap my mind around this. It is just so totally beyond belief that anyone could do something so despicable & horrendous to an innocent, loving animal; especially one of your own. My God, what is wrong with people anymore!!!

Believe me people here in Columbus are furious. I don't want this fireman coming into my house and leaving my dogs. You are taught to trust them -we HELL NO. He should loose his job and be sent to jail. ******* !

I admire and have great respects for fire-fighters all over the world on a daily basis. I know how hard they work. They care about everyone including pets and often put their lives on the line to save others!

This individual has obviously flipped for some reason and he is a disgrace to our beloved fire-fighters. Who looked after the dogs when he went on a shout? How did he cope when he had a diffrent shift? Who walked and fed the dogs!!!!:mad: Sadly they could be better off where they are now...

I hope this creep's behaviour does not tarnish fire-fighters' dedications and daily hard work and commitments in any way!!

Wow I cant believe that that actually happened.. How could he afford to go on a cruise but couldnt afford to board his dogs.. Let family or friends take them for god sakes.. or better yet if you have no money, dont go on a cruise!

Santuomo's attorney said that his client is remorseful over his actions and that people need to temper their outrage. "It's the same old story. They couldn't care less about people and they love animals," lawyer Sam Shamansky said.

The guy hung his dogs up and shot them and somehow animal lovers are at fault for being outraged? What an unfortunate quote. This quote and the fact that the firefighter got caught because he was bragging about it at the fire house make me think he is really crazy. What a horrible act.

RIP poor doggies.

I posted this in another thread I found about this, if anyone wants to voice there opinion to the people who matter about him losing his job here's the link, the will override the poor judgement his department is obviously making to have him still there not "dealing with the public face to face" a crime is a crime regardless of who you are but especially worse to ones who make the vow and oath these guys do when they sign on. I should know I am the proud wife of a firefighter and his company wouldn't blink an eye at this they'd be kicked out in a heartbeat! If you want your voice heard here's the link

This type of sinister behavior lays the foundation for greater sociopathic behaviors. Cruelty to animals s sometime a precursor to serial killing... while this is a horrible case, who knows what it may have circumvented? Just when you think man's behavior can't get any lower, someone pulls out a shovel!

The fire chief is calling for him to be fired. It was on the radio in Columbus today. It will still have to go to the union. It makes me sick to even think about it.
