How does your Golden Express Affection?

I wanted to put the general question out to everyone on here to share how their Goldens displays affection to them? Every dogs personality is slightly different and I thought it would be neat to ask the question about your personal experience.

My boy will often sort of fall back across me when we are on the couch or in bed and roll on his back and start wagging his tail and start making low grunting sounds and whining sounds while trying to lick my face(I try not to encourage that but it's pretty hard when he is so happy). When he is really happy and wants to play he will howl and make cute grunting growling sounds. When I haven't seen him for awhile he will dance in circles and sit next to me and whine and howl a bit it's fricken adorable. Pictures from bed this weekend.

Love the question! Looking forward to a bucketload of responses!

Oscar is very subtle is expressing affection. When we are away for several days our return is greeted by a few quiet tail wags. As with most goldens he is very expressive with his paws, wrapping one around our arm during rubs. In the morning he likes to circle around and position himself for rubs by his tail. As you said, "its fricken adorable!"

Hudson: 1987 - 1999 (adopted at 2 1/2)
Oscar: 2016 -

Thanks for sharing. Oscar sounds like a sweetheart and the paw around the arm is adorable. Sunny's fav spot for scratches is on his belly in and around his back legs. He isn't one to paw me too much unless he has a ball or a rope and wants to play tug or fetch.

Thank you for the question I can't wait to read more responses. Leo is very particular with me and my husband. I don't know if I made him this way or it is his personality but Leo is just an absolute baby with me. We cuddle he lays on me, if he is sick or anything he is extra mopey with me and just wants all the attention from me at all time. He just loves to lay on me and we are always next to each other. With my husband he is different he tries to play more and just lay next to him instead of on him and he is more attentive with him outside since he is the best at throwing the ball. Here is a pic of us cuddling. Can't imagine life without the daily cuddles he has no awareness of personal space and i dont mind!

This is so funny. Our golden is really weird when we come back from vacation. He usually never comes freaking out to me like he usually doesn when I come home from work and it takes him 2 days to be back to his affectionate self with me.. I think he holds a grudge lol. With my husband he is never like that and always greets him upon coming home

What a wonderful relationship you and your husband have with him and it does sound like he is a bit ticked when you are gone for an extended duration but I guess that just means he missed you and or got out of his normal lapdog rhythm but Dogs can be weird sometimes... Love the pics, your boy is just adorable.

Amber has never been a lap dog but she does want to be where we are. One thing she does that I love is when I'm sitting at the table. She comes over and I give her a good ear and neck rub. Then I give her head some petting. She will then plop herself down at my feet. I took this just this morning.

Honey has a special routine for each of us. She hops onto the bed to wake Hubby up she he can give her belly rubs while she sings to him. The rest of the day she's at my side, resting on my feet or beside me on the couch. She's very generous with her kisses too.

When our adult kids come over she goes bananas, dancing around them, wiggling while singing and moaning. She'll take my son's arm (like Lassie did) and lead him to the treats.

Lol thanks for the stories and great picture! It sounds like your Honey is such a affectionate girl. Sing is such a great description of the sounds they make. It sounds like Honey could be in a choir
