Harness suggestion for a large head

Hello all,

We currently have the Ruffwear Front Range harness and a similar one from Embark Adventures. I like everything about these except the fact that Tomo's face is so large... If I adjust the upper chest so it fits snugly, then it's difficult to pull over his face. If I adjust it for his head circumference, then it's loose around his chest.

So, I'm looking for a clip on harness that has a clip for the upper chest in addition to the clips at the ribs, to use in the car and on walks once out of the car. Any suggestions?

Features:
quick to put on
comfortable!
ring or carry handle at the back to use in car with the seatbelt
a ring at front or side for "easy walk" (I can clip the leash to the collar but it's nice to have an alternative if he's pulling really hard)

I know there's step-in harnesses (only going through his legs), but he doesn't seem to like wearing them as much. But if that's the only other option, we can do more training to like those.

Check out the Perfect Fit harness - it comes in three pieces (which might help your head issue). I use it for tracking - the sizing is really bang on, and the shipping and shipping time were surprisingly good on both fronts (the company is in the UK, but they ship to the U.S. and Canada).

It looks like he has a nice collar. I would just use that. Harnesses encourage pulling. That's why you see them on sled dogs. Maybe some obedience classes to help you teach him not to pull if it's a big problem.

Thanks, I do really like the quality of his collar! It's the Orvis personalized reflective collar.

We're working on walking nicely (I'll stop or back up if he pulls hard), but some days when I'm running late for work or trying to get somewhere on time so I don't have the time to train, I'm supposed to use a different command (and allow him the freedom to pull a bit). Also we use a harness restraint in the car, and we're in the car probably 6 days out of the week since he goes to daycare.

Check out this one, my GR is 7 months at 70+ pounds and a pretty big head and it fits with plenty room to expand. I like it with the matching leash and treat holder making him very stylish and reflective for night time. THe treat holder is new so they are throwing in a food mat for free for a comment.

I know you've already got a harness, but just putting this out there for others.

I really like the balance harness. It's super adjustable and the sizes overlap a lot, so it's nice for growing puppies (a medium fit my friend's golden puppy and also fits my 75# adult dog). There's like 6 adjustment points too for a nice fit. There's two d-rings, one in the front and one in the back. Kaizer walks nice on a collar, but i use the harness in the car and when I use his long leash. That harness has gone through a lot (mud, rivers, lakes, ponds, the beach, etc.) and cleans up really nicely.

Oh, this is a good option too, and it looks nice and light. I like how there's a easy clip at the neck area and the back piece is also adjustable. I'll def keep it in mind!

Yeah a range of sizes is nice, we've already gone through 3 harnesses...

Got the Perfect Fit harness 2 weeks ago and love it so far! We got the 20 l-m-xl size.

I’ve tried using both the front and back clip attachments with the dual ended leash and it works pretty well. I use it for shorter neighborhood walks or going from car to daycare, where I want him to stay closer to me.

For longer walks in the park I’ll make the usual loop leash. The fleece lined leash is really comfy and easy to hold (well relatively, if he pulls really hard after a dog or animal then I’ll still get a bit of leash burn).
