Anyone who's been here for a while knows Shala is small. She's a perfectly proportioned petite little girl, often mistaken for a 9-month old puppy (so that gives you a good idea of her size). 20.5 inches tall, 45 pounds. She can curl herself into the smallest little ball at the end of the couch, taking up just half of a couch cushion.
And so when I walked into my room the other day and saw this, I thought, how is that possible? Look at how long that dog is!! Who even is that??
My newest edition is small too, 20.1" at the withers and 50 (close anyway) lbs. The little dog takes up so little space on the bed, curls up into a ball next to me on the sofa and is soooo easy to put in the tub and groom. You have a point though! I can't believe those legs belong to a smaller dog!! I've never seen my girl spread out like that, she gives you the dead frog stretch most of the time!
Kaizer is approx. 24" tall and 75 pounds. The amount of people who ask me how old he is just to say that they thought he was 8-10 months old is insane. I understood it better last year when he was underweight - he was 24" and 65 pounds and had no coat. I think people just assume based on face/energy? Maybe Shala just has a puppy youthfulness to her!

She definitely does have that puppy look and energy to her, too, for sure. So paired with her size, people ALWAYS think she is anywhere from 6 to 9 months old. I don't mind! I hope she stays a puppy at heart for the rest of her life. :smile2:
This must be a skill all Golden's have. We had to stop letting them sleep in our room because we could never move our legs and you can't kick them off!
Shala is adorable and I probably would have thought she was a 9-10 month old puppy except for that fluffy tail!
My husband's been trying to convince me that Luna doesn't need to be in her crate at night anymore and can sleep on our bed but I'm pretty sure we're going to need to upgrade to a king size first.
Winx is a little girl too at 20.5 inches and 52 pounds. All muscle. She's a ball of energy....I'm not sure we've ever caught her lying on the bed like that. I used to get the puppy thing all the time until she started getting a white face. Now everyone is surprised to learn that she is only 4.
