Hi all,

In one of my graduate classes (I am in an Educational Leadership masters program) I have to complete a project where I find and interview the leader of some sort of organization. It can be the president of a company, a CEO, founder, board member etc. I am hoping to find someone in the dog/golden retriever community to interview. I will be asking general questions about the organization, but also about the leader's life and journey to the 'top' of the organization.

Was thinking of maybe someone from the Morris Animal Foundation?

Would love to get some other ideas on who I could interview...or if anyone has any other golden retriever or animal connections they would be willing to share, please let me know!

Hopefully most people are open to helping out a graduate student :)

Morris Animal Foundation is a great idea! I bet you could also interview someone in leadership at the GRCA or GRF (Foundation, not forum) (@Prism Goldens any ideas?) or even AKC itself. There are several department heads that you can contact directly if you search hard enough on the website. You could also try an officer in one of your more local Golden clubs like Yankee or Garden State or one that is closer to you. I think there is another club in New York, I just can't think of the name of it right now.

How about Kurt Macauley, current president of GRCA? Super nice guy.

John Cotter is Pres of the Foundation right now. Depending on the way you word the question, not sure either of them (John or Kurt) would do anything but laugh @ the rise to the top piece... it's a largely thankless job to be on any Board.. free trip to the National isn't worth the idjits that they have to deal with day in and day out . .

McCauley is a great guy to be on Committee with- he's exceedingly fair.

Both these organizations very connected. Cotter used to be GRCA President.
GRF will be funding the hunt for the hemangiosarcoma cure- it's a good organization to give your Xmas gifts too.

All great ideas - and I bet any and all of them would be happy to talk to you. Be professional in your request, tell them exactly what it would be for and how much of their time you would be asking for, and then go into the interview well prepared and mind the clock. Sounds like a fun project.

I would be happy to connect you with the Executive Director of Yankee Golden Retreiver Rescue. Just send me a PM if interested. I am sure she would be open to a conversation.
