Receiver Collar Adjustment
I could really use some help on figuring out how to adjust the strength on an "Invisible Fence" brand dog collar.
I had an Invisible Fence installed around 4 acres of my yard after I picked up a new puppy. Since the puppy was 10 weeks old, the installer set the collar strength to the lowest level (level 1 and it goes to level 5), and he told me the collar would need to be adjusted when the dog grew bigger. He's now just over 6 months old and normally, when I let him out he stays inside the invisible fence perimeter. But occasionally, such as when he's chasing something, he runs through the fence like it's not even there. I've tested the fence and collar and they're working right, so I think it's time to increase the strength of the collar.
My invisible fence brand installer told me that only Invisible Fence dealer personnel are authorized to adjust the collar strength. I want to do it myself because 1) I don't want to drive the 40 miles to their office, and 2) I don't want to pay them $75 come to my house.
I've looked at every angle of the receiver and removed the collar strap, the posts, and the battery cover and battery to look inside the battery well. I can find no way to adjust anything. I can find no "buttons", no dials, or anything that could be adjusted on the collar. A few seconds after I put the battery in, I see 5 blinks of a green light, and that's the only thing I see the receiver do at all. Can someone please tell me how to make the adjustment?
