There are some companies that offer private flights for people and their pets.

One is Privatefly, their website provides info on destination and costs.

If you Google private flights, several sites come up.

We want to bring our dog with us for the 8-10 weeks, however, we will not be able to drive (2500 miles) there due to personal constraints. Our other option is to leave the dog at a kennel for the time, which I am trying to avoid at all costs.

Once we are there our dog will have full access to my parents fenced in back yard (over an acre) , pool, and their dogs.

It does sound like a really complicated situation. I'm sorry about that. Is there any way he could stay with a friend, or maybe two friends (one month each)? I hear you about a kennel - I wouldn't want to do that either.

Yes, we did this for an hour flight this past December. Maximus was only 5 months old. We were a bit worried how he would do, but we didn't want to leave him behind and we opted to see it as 'socialising' him for travels etc. We did give him a calming tablet to help.

By the time we landed at our destination, although it was only an hour, I was sooo worried for him. We were in a small plane of maybe just 30 people max. Everything can be heard, it's so loud, and so much more bumpy down at the cargo. When they finally rolled him through in his kennel and I took him out, however, he was the happiest little guy! He normally has problems with motion sickness and diarrhea - there was no mess at all!

A week later, when we flew back, we didn't give him a tablet this time, and he was perfectly fine once again. So for us it went really well.

Our dog has grown up in the city, been socialised to many different noises, travelling on the bus, car, etc. Also, he is happy to be alone for an hour or two, with no separation anxiety or problems like that. If your dog is the same then I think it will also go really well!
