Nose Colour

Hi there

I was wandering if there was any magic thing to do to prevent the Goldies nose going Brown/Pink in colour.
I have looked at pictures of his father on the net and his nose is still black.
Any help would be appreciated

PG says it could be a lack of Vitamin D. Also in winter (lack of sun) dogs noses get pinker. Some rub it off on plastic feeding dishes.
Gunner's nose is less black than Selka's. ?

Also heard on the forum that it is sometimes referred to as "Snow Nose". Sadies gets quite pink this time of year as she loves to bury her entire head into the snow. Around mid summer it becomes mostly black.

"Snow nose", or "winter nose", is called that because the nose tends to lighten during the winter months. The days are shorter, thereby decreasing the amount of sunlight - a natural source of Vitamin D - and the pigment lightens. It will darken back up as the days become loger, although as dogs age, some will remain lighter, never returning to the jet black as when younger.
