Spaying for Delilah

Delilah is being spayed tomorrow and I've got to tell ya....
I'm sort of freaking out. Not only am I worried about her surgery, but we won't be leaving her over-night due to our vet not having anyone there over-night. So I feel better knowing she is at home where I can keep an eye on her.

BUT...IT'S SO COLD. I'm worried about hauling her out in this cold after a major surger. Yes, I'll have DH keep the car warm. We have butt warmers on the seats and I'll bring a blanket.

I need reassurance that my sweet girl will be okay. My logical side says, "This surgery is done all the time." But for whatever reason, I'm freakin'.

I don't blame you for being nervous..... I'm a wreck anytime one of ours has to be anesthetized. However, just remember the risk is VERY, VERY low. Have confidence in your vet. I would recommend the "optional" lab work beforehand as a safety measure. I've always brought mine home the same day. They are pretty out of it that night, but I'd rather they be with me. I'll be thinking of your sweet girl.... and you tomorrow. Let us know when she's home. BTW..... I've always asked my vet to call once she was out of surgery so I could rest a little easier.

I'll be thinking about her tomorrow! Please don't read my thread about Blush until she is home safe, no need to worry more.

If I had it to do over again, I would have canceled & done it earlier in the week. Even though both of my vets are available 24 hours...it would have made me feel better knowing that they were at the clinic when I needed them...not out to dinner with their families.

I'm sure she will be fine - can't say the same for you though. You would be a very uncaring mum if you weren't worried.

All of mine have been spayed and came home the same day - they have all walked out of the surgery, but once home they zonked out and slept the night away and the next morning you would not have known they had had anything done.

Sending good luck wishes to you all

I'm in the same boat. Avery's spay appointment is next Tuesday and I've been trying hard to not think too much about it and trust that everything will be okay. Have they done any blood work on Delilah?

Will be thinking of you both tomorrow. Won't it be great to have it over and done with?
