chicken wing bones...

My dogs just ganged up on me...Daisy scratched at the door as if she wanted out, (our patio door is in the basement) so i went down stair and waited...and called and neither dog came...
When i came up, Keira took a chicken wing bone off the table and ate it...what should i do? is it dangerous? i know it was only one...should i call the vet?

I would. If it's cooked, it could puncture something.

This just happened to my friend's boxer. The vet said to give him several slices of bread(Why, I am not sure?). Jeannie was up all night pacing and watching, but nothing bad happened.

i called the emerg vet...and they said there's nothing they can do...b/c if they try to induce vomit it could cause more problems...and her body will probably naturally break it down. But they said watch for vomit and diarreah...if that happens they recommend I call the vet.
I keep her in our bedroom at night anyways so i'll hear her if something happens over night...
This dog, my goodness...she's my problem fur-child! lol

Was this bone cooked? If so, I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes thru without problem. If the bone was raw then she should have no problem passing it at all!!

It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are. Unknown

I heard from somewhere that the bread attaches to the bone coating it for sharp edges. I dont know if that is true but that is the only reason I can think of for the bread. I pray that Keira is going to be ok
