My parents have a 10mo old Chocolate lab named Brodie. Naturally, they fell head over heels in love w/him and he NEVER did any wrong. They give us a hard time because Pumba was a really rambunctious (sp?) puppy between 7-10mo old. Digging up yards, chewing sprinkler heads, pulling up drip line, etc. Brodie was NEVER going to do that sort of stuff. hehe
We kept telling them that all puppies go thru some sort of behavior like that and they kept telling us that Brodie was different. I will grant them the fact that Brodie has been really mellow for a pup and has learned very quickly to behave. Well, it all came to a screeching halt this week and I am lovin every minute of it. :D
They've been on vacation in California going on 2 weeks. They had a crate but said that Brodie could lay down in it but couldn't stand up. So, they figured he was fine to be left out and unattended for 3-4hrs at a time. He had torn up a pillow (it looked like it had snowed), 2 rugs, got a zip lock baggie of chocolate chip cookies, ate 7 of them w/out tearing the bag, tore up 2 boxes and the grand finale was a leather loveseat and ottamon. All the while, not bothering to chew on his toys that were left out.
I gloated and told them that Pumba NEVER distroyed furniture and has NEVER gotten a hold of food on the counter.
Brodie is no longer perfect....*SIGH*
