earwax?????

Hi everyone... I forgot to ask my vet about this...

Jax looks like he has maybe earwax?... on the underside of his ears he has brown spots which seem to wipe off.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

All floppy eared dogs get yeasty ears especially in hot humid weather. Use a liquid ear cleaner and some cotton balls to keep the ears healthy and dry. If you have your dog groomed, the groomer will usually do it, or the vet will show you how if you are afraid.

I happened to be at our vet today so I asked. She said it's normal, and yes, it's probably wax. She recommended EpiOptic Advnaced to clean the ears and said -- whatever you use -- do NOT use qtips. Just use the solution until it drains out, rub the ears like a massage, then get out what you can with a cotton ball. You fingers with the cotton ball cannot reach way into the ear canal, so nothing can get punctured or hurt.

Bo has the same problem, but very light.
My son's Australian Cattle Dog takes care of it.
She cleans his ears, his eyes, and his mouth.... My wife hates it and gets grossed out.
I just let her do it... She's going to do it when we are out or not watching anyway.
She just finds him irresistible....
