what does it mean when they stand alert and give a sharp blow or rush of air out their nose. Kind of a snort.

When horses do it, after a good and wild gallop around, it's because they are excited and king of the hill. Usually followed by tail flagging and prancing.

Penny is doing her growly talk to me (she wants to go outside and wait for Penny's Dad to come home:no:) and she gave me a snort. Her growly talk actually sound like low thunder way in the distance.

What?? 40 degrees and drizzling isn't your idea of a good time?? lol My husband saw snow flakes yesterday when he was driving a patient to the hospital somewhere north on Dixie Hwy...not sticking, just melting, but still...

Okay, so I took out to the potty just to be sure it wasn't that. Nope, she plunked her furry (on one side :() blonde butt and refused to budge. There's snow flurries on days #9 and #10 in the ten day forecast. This is how it starts...a little here, a little there...pretty soon we're all cussing.

I think maybe it is her way of smack-talking to me when she's impatient and getting disgusted with me.
I think you have it right! At least she isn't barking at you which is what Angelina would do! They are opinionated girls, aren't they?
