Ok this dog chews like there is no tomorrow. Always has. We can't give her stuffies as she shreds them way too fast. Even hard rubber toys she just chews the snot out of them. She has destroyed toys we thought were impossible. Hard rubber balls, she puts a hole in them and shreds. Unbelievable.

Today she crossed the line, and is now in a HEAP of trouble. I have been working really hard to sell my riding clothes. I have two people who want two pair of my breeches. I got them out of the closet so I don't forget about them. I am planning to go to the post office to get mailing supplies, then go back and mail them. I go upstairs just a couple minutes ago to use the bathroom.... Gabby has EATEN a pair of the breeches leather knee patch off. She chewed through the material and all the way to the outside of the knee too. I am SO mad at her. However... there is no trace of the material anywhere, usually there is. Which means she consumed it. If she gets sick off of this I will be MORE furious with her. They were on a bed, she knows better than to take things off some thing. Her toys are in her toy box, there is nothing for a dog on that bed. She is in a HEAP of trouble.

I see threads here all the time of indestructible toys. In my opinion they do NOT exist.

Poor you, poor Gabby.. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have chewed something up on purpose to make you mad.. she's a dog who loves you and only wants to please you.. I'm guessing she didn't really get the "out of bounds" thing as much as you thought.. but she definitely wasn't thinking "oh, maybe mom'll get mad.. haha nevermind!"

Deep breaths, and remember how awesome your dog is! I for one would like one like her :)

Oh yes we do antlers... and she chews right through them too. We have one left I think it was about 4" in diameter, that one takes her some time. We have a lot of 'bones' as those she takes longer with but we have some getting too small we have to pitch soon.

Oh I know she didn't do it on purpose to make me mad. Though she succeeded in that. However she KNOWS not to touch stuff on there. She was being a bad puppy. She is bored, sorry it is raining, I got you out yesterday. You have PLENTY of your own toys and Quinn to play with. Heck we hadn't even been up much, I was eating my breakfast when she did this.

Brat dog.

Maybe this is a bad time to point out that once they eat leather, all things leather beware? :)

Our Sammy was a leather connoiseur. The more expensive the leather, the better. o_O When he was Gabby's age he ate 3 feet of our Charmy's leather leash. And he decided that the training leash my sister used with him needed to lose a couple feet too. And we gave up buying him leather collars, because somehow or other he would snag them and chew them up.

And yes, we watched him like a hawk. My best theory is he got up in the middle of the night for leather snacks. o_O

Oh Ann, you must be having a blast raising a female version of Flip. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I think she is too! LOL

She is a stinker and I know she has to be kept busy or she finds trouble. She just didn't give me a chance today.

She knows I am upset. She keeps giving me the BIG BROWN PUPPY DOG eyes. She is so darn cute. She knows it too, however I am still mad.

Rhut rooh, somebody is in deep doo doo. Guess you'll have to take it out of her allowance.

oh surely this isn't the same sweet angelic dog you just sent me a photo of??? ;)

I saw that picture and just GASPED for air. Egad, Gabby, what were you thinking...if anything at all?

This actually PROVES she knows bed stuff is off limits. They always go for the forbidden fruit when they are having 'one of those days'. Penny will ignore things laying around until she wants to start a game. Then she goes cruising for stuff she knows we'll take away.

So sorry about your breeches.

:uhoh: Uh oh... someone was a bad girl!!

If it makes you feel any better, I bought a really nice pair of Birkenstock sandals (which cost me like $150 or some outrageous amount) one night, went to bed, woke up and Tucker had them chewed to PIECES.

He didn't touch anyone elses shoes (there was like 10 pair there) he just HAD to go for the expensive ones!

Try not to be too hard on Gabby!

This is like looking into the future, I imagine.

I am an IT consultant and an electronics nut....our new puppy has had a cord (laptop power adapter) in her mouth 4x on day one. She is easily off of it, when i point her to a chewy...but me thinks some puppy proofing of the house will have to be kept up on.

ESPECIALLY after reading this thread!

Well, at least she and Quinn can keep each other company in the doghouse!!

I woke up on Sunday morning, and my first thought was....."Oh god, I didn't put my black boots up last night." (We had gone to Oktoberfest on Saturday night) I jumped out of bed with a feeling of dread - But luckily, thankfully they were safely tucked away in my closet. I would have been sick.

Quinn was an angel all weekend...... Monday is usually the downturn for us.......

Leather is too good to pass up for my dogs, lost several nice leather leashes to them.

I'm going to quietly whisper, maybe she should be crated while you are gone?

I imagine the combo of your sweat on the inside, horse sweat on the outside and leather was irresistible!
